Spring flowers,
Giving powers,
Of love and joy.
Like a child with a new toy.
Thinking of what spring will bring,
Make me want to sing,
But just as painful as a splinter,
I step outside, and it is winter.

The author's comments:
I was in detention one day, and I had to walk home after the one hour detention. And inside the school it smelled of tulips, and was nice and warm, like spring. And when I walked outside, it was cold and snowing. So I came up with this poem on my way home.
