Roamers, Drifters, and Wanderers

If life were fair and I had a choice
I would choose to be a Drifter
Over a Roamer.

For Roamers search both day and night
Lost in the darkness of their despair
Seeking a purpose from land to land
Purpose so long gone, ‘twas already there.

On the other hand, Drifters have not lost their way
They need not a purpose, for they need not to stay
And although they are happy, and cool and carefree
They are homeless and empty, a hapless place to be.

But if lacking purpose is no good for you
A Wanderer may be life’s calling, your song
They go where they like and they like where they go
Still, the wind sends them wandering on.

Yet if life were fair and I had a choice
I would reject all three.
Roamers, Drifters, and Wanderers are fine
But a dreamer’s who I’d want
