Oak Tree

We could carve our names into the oak tree
And watch it grow.
We could change as the tree changes.
We could sit beneath it.
We could carve our names into the oak tree
And visit it twenty years later
And our names would be as tall as the sky.
We could carve our names into the oak tree
And never see them again.
