Why I Run

I run as if I'm running away,
Away from my emotions that stay,
Away from the sticks and stones,
Away from feeling alone,
As if I'm going to a better place,
I don't think of it as a race,
But a fantasy,
That I can see,
As if I'm running from the dark,
To a place where I spark,
Where I feel like I matter,
Where my hopes and dreams won't shatter,
I wish this place was real,
Where I can handle what I feel,
But This place doesn't exist,
It's hidden in the mist,
I run because I'm looking for it,
Unless I find that place, I won't quit.
