I Still Love Him

August 29, 2008
By Mary Mastrangelo, Haleiwa, HI

His captivating gaze is fixed on me when he speaks,
His smooth voice somehow explains all reason for life,
He is so young yet his eyes show a lifetime of sorrow and happiness,
He is so sincere and calm even in times of great distress,
He has never known an enemy for he is incapable of making any,
He understands so much yet he can only show it with a smile,
As soon as you understand him he must leave,
And when he wanted me he could not stay,
He left me with only my memories,
With only my shadow to stand by me,
And yet under all of it,
I still love him.

This poem deserves about a 9.5 out of 10. It was well written (and the picture went along well) but I think it could be longer. Keep up the good work!
