I Could Be Gone...

Please don’t walk away,
For I know not when I’ll go,
I could be gone by morning,
When the sun’s still hanging low.
Please don’t leave me here alone,
For I need you by my side,
I could be gone by nightfall,
When ebbing is the tide.
Please don’t close your eyes,
For now I need you see,
I could be gone by sunset,
When all this pain leaves me.
Please don’t walk away,
For on this ground I lie,
I could be gone by evening,
Abandoned left to die.
