"You miss 100% of the shots that you don't take."

My home is far away from everything you know.
I live in the land of faded gray.

The sticky wet breeze runs through my hair and tickles my nose.
I am in the midst of hundreds of people,
but I feel so alone in the midst of their chatter.

But that's how life is in the land of faded gray,
Never exciting or filled with adventure.
Life here is slow and dull,
Filled with a past full of sadness and regrets.

It is simply gray.

Where no one gives you a second glance,
I am nobody in a sea of judgmental people.

But as I now descend from the clouds I can see it at last.
It may be dull and gray but this is what I call home.

I had the idea for this poem when I was on an air plain coming down through the clouds. When we were between two layers of clouds some of the words for this popped into my head.
