Martyr's Insomnia Allegory (M.I.A.)

Eternally dreary
Sleep should eventually come
If only in theory
But lawfully false as a sum
Placing my head on a stone pillow
Under a shadow sheet
I find peace under the willow
But sleep is in a constant fleet
I drown in a mere
Six inches of water
Exasperating the clear
Morals of the martyr
Always looking behind
But still moving forward
Afraid of my own kind
And being forewarned
If I'm caught close eyed
Sleep will surely come
It will come with the rising tide
And I'll fulfill my mission as a sum
