Life happens, you just have to move on.
Learn from your past. Live in the present. Never over think the future.

I never really knew you
I didn't understand why you were lying there
I never really knew you
I've only really heard stories
I never really knew you
Mom takes us by your house some times
Its looks terrible now
I never really knew you
Your kids are doing well
They all have kids of there own now
I never really knew you
I've seen Opas old uniform
And a few other things of his
I never really knew you
I didn't understand
Why we never went
And saw you
Just dad’s parents
I never really knew you
I can remember my mom
Going through your things
I could tell she was crying when she was
I never really knew you
I remember Alex telling me stories
Of the nights we would stay over
That area wasn’t as bad then
I never really knew you
I wish I could know you better than just stories
I never really knew you
Mom has pictures and videos
I've only seen them once
I never really knew you
We visited your grave while it was cold
We put a blanket on it for you and Opa
I never really knew you
I wish you were still here
Me and Alex have done some great things
You would be very proud
Especially mom
She raised us of course
I never really knew you
When I was younger I always wanted to see you
But never could
There use to be an album
It had tons of pictures of you and Opa
I don’t know what happened to it.
Its been nine years
And I miss you even more now
Mom tells us stories of Germany
I always want to know more
Mom wonders if your brother is still there,
Is he with you know?
It would have been nice to have met him
I never really knew you
I shouldn’t be crying
About something I barely knew
I never really knew you
And I wish I had
Oma could you just tell me why you had to go so soon
Could you show me that your still there
Watching over us
Helping us out
Anything would be great
Just to get to know you better
