Here's a personal quote that I came up with "Never be to blinded by your past to where you cannot see your future."

Taking Pride
“Taking pride in what your Great Grandparents and Ancestors did” is ALWAYS what my Grandmother told me,
Gvgeyu'i is the word that slipped from my grandmother’s tongue,
The essence of the Navajo Rug is how it came about,
She uttered the words to me that would ALWAYS stand out
Take pride in your heritage sweetie,
Never let anyone tell you different and how much you mean to me.
The Land
The patterns are the making of how we came to be,
First free and then taken from our OWN land,
It’s kind of like how Columbus stole my mother’s land,
It was light skinned and dark skinned when it’s really black,
Remember this word as it slips from the cracks beneath your tongue
Howatsu remember Digegv the Tribe of GREAT leaders.
Patterns
The colors and patterns are the world’s second most beautiful form of art,
As I try to crop the frame and hope that you notice it had been torn apart,
Now we’ve tried so long to grasp the concept of what a TRUE Native mean,
The work that is placed with beauty is beyond ]he unseen.
