The Poets Cry
The poets cry on the page
The flame on the pen
Turns tears to steam
The flame on the pen
Burns the words away
But they were never meant to be read
It was only insight into the soul
Into the head, into the heart
But you wouldn’t care anyways.
They keep it locked up
Cause no one would understand
What it is that they mean
With the melodramatic words and dark scenes
No one cares what they think
You just say they waste their life away
The poets cry on the page
The flame on the pen
Turns tears to steam
The flame on the pen
Burns the words away
It burns the world away
