It’s okay, I wouldn’t remember me either.
You left and didn’t call,
Not on my birthday,
Christmas, or Easter.
Did you forget about us?
It’s okay, I wouldn’t remember me either.
I was on your doorstep, and
Asked if you knew me.
“No, why?” you answered.
It’s okay, I wouldn’t remember me either.
You left and never came back
For no apparent reason.
It’s not okay, I would have remembered:
Who my family is,
Who my granddaughter is.
It’s not okay.
