Higher Ground

I'm not what you assume,
I see the world in twos,
I see your dark side through your pleasant lies.
I take my time I read between the lines.
All I have is a decade of courage burning high
inside my soul.
Through these years,
Through my eyes,
My dreams have been my
wings to keep me in higher ground.
On the other side
would you know how
much of me I've given towards
who I want to be.
The night brings hope,
Since all I do is dream.
