" I would neither sell nor buy at any price my experience." - Hank Gerards, WWII Veteran, my Grandfather

What a day, what a day!
Dear let me tell you of this day that I had.
I was brought to my knees in the blink of an eye.
And I choked.
The walls around me turned to dust and crumbled away.
No longer sheltered I was burned by the sun for there was no shade.

What a day, what a day!
Dear let me elaborate on this day that I had.
Everything that I ever loved ceased to exist.
And I watched
As everything that I loved fell away, walked away, ran away from me.
As everything that I loved turned its back on me.

What a day, what a day!
Dear let me continue to lament for this day that I had.
I was torn from my home before I could recant my words.
It’s my fault.
I coughed out the drywall and opened my eyes
To the blinding darkness that swallowed up time.

What a day, what a day!
Dear let me expunge the terror that embodied my day.
I was pulled from this world by an invisible hand and subjected
To its’ demands.
I wept and I sobbed and I begged to be free
But that horrible hand kept its’ grasp firm around me.

What a day, what a day!
Dear please allow me to continue with my story.
A terrible voice said unto me, “You shall not leave.”
What could I do?
I ran for as long as I could and ended back at the start.
No distance I moved could keep that hand and myself apart.

What a day, what a day!
Dear please stay while I finish my story.
I ran for eternity, but the hand was right there waiting for me.
And then it squeezed!
And I screamed out in agony, “Please just let me be.”
And in my torment I finally closed my eyes.

What a day, what a day!
Dear this is the end of what I have to say.
When I opened my eyes I was on my way home.
You hugged me.
And you whispered in my ear, “You shall not leave.”
And you squeezed me tight, and you left me wondering if you were real.

I wanted to play with some parallelism with this. So I did.
