Don’t Fall On Me

Trust is hard thing to come by
But we found it quickly
So fast we didn’t even ask why

That road was long
Oh we were walking
All it took was that one wrong sign
That regretted risk, that fatal miss.

Oh I lost you somewhere
What was once built so high,
fell so hard to the ground
Hurting too much to even cry
So dark inside
And so shut down
Even if you find me again,
I won’t let you fall on me
Don’t fall on me

It’s a matter of heart
An internal wound that won’t heal
Your name on paper, now ripped apart

That road so long
Oh we were walking
All it took was that one wrong sign
That regretted risk, that fatal miss

Oh I lost you somewhere
What was once built so high,
fell so hard to the ground
Hurting too much to even cry
So dark inside
And so shut down
Even if you find me again,
I won’t let you fall on me
Don’t fall on me

Usually when something happens to me and it is really bugging me I'll call my best friend and I just start talking. All it takes is for someone to say one fragment of a sentence or a phrase and the whole thing just comes out on paper. My other poem Hello Stranger was the same way and also inspired me in a personal way.
