It first started with our outdated telephone
Getting all excited, not knowing this technology will never be the same

Moving onto cassette tapes played in the car
Of our roadtrips, technology will never be the same

I remember sitting in the living room playing those old records
Little did my parents know their technology will never be the same

We moved on towards CD players that repeated our favorite songs
Wouldn't have figured this technology will never be the same

All wrapped up in those corded house phones
Talking away how this technology will never be the same

Now my generation's moved onto cell phones
Thinking this is the best yet, thinking this technology will never change

Now I see people with their iPads, pods, and phones
At the rate we're going, technology will never be the same

So fast these things have passed
Looking back I'm missing it, knowing technology will never stay the same
