Escape

Cheek pressed to cold tile.
Splotches rapidly hitting the pavement.
Echoing off the walls like a stampede of wild animals.
How did I end up here?

Splotches rapidly hitting the pavement.
Taste of metal on my tongue.
How did I end up here?
My skin in pieces just like my shattered heart.

Taste of metal on my tongue.
Crimson dripping on the floor.
My skin in pieces just like my shattered heart.
I feel alive once more.

Crimson dripping on the floor.
The torment of my peers put on display for the world.
I feel alive once more.
So numb, I can hardly feel the blood pulsing throughout my veins.
I remain alone on this night.

She is the only one who can save me.
Footsteps can be heard fading away in the distance.
I remain alone on this night.
Pale arms covered in sad stories.

Footsteps can be heard fading away in the distance.
My world begins fading in and out.
Pale arms covered in sad stories.
Cheek remaining pressed to cold tile.

This is a Pantoum that I wrote in my creative writing class some time ago. The central theme of the poem is something very personal to me that I wished to share with all of you.
