"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all." -Oscar Wilde

Stepping outside, I realize that all of the clouds have suddenly turned gray.
Under a moon that shines like the diamonds in your eyes,
Your heart beats a thousand miles away, but I hear it as clear as day.

Promise me you’ll never go away.
We’ll make it out there on our own someday.
Stepping outside, I realize that all of the clouds have suddenly turned gray.

We’ll never listen to what they all say.
Let’s take a shot in the dark and hold onto each other until the mornings bright.
Your heart beats a thousand miles away, but I hear it as clear as day.

Let’s make the most out of today.
You bring out the best in me.
Stepping outside, I realize that all of the clouds have suddenly turned gray.

Green eyes, captivating me throughout the night.
Every moment with you feels right.
Stepping outside, I realize that all of the clouds have suddenly turned gray.
Your heart beats a thousand miles away, but I hear it as clear as day.

This is a Villanelle I wrote in my creative writing class. I had a certain person in mind when I wrote it, so that makes it all the more special to me.
