Big sister, tall blonde
whir of blow dryer in the background,
encourages her illuminated face to
at least try
then give up, content uneven
kinks, mess but all beautiful

enter little sister
big eyes, blue yes
blonde hair, blonde hair
with her undeniably fresh face, curled in an angry smirk
angry at something she doesn’t understand

Soon the little sister will become the big sister too, seen stepping into what the big sister once was

This poem is in responce to my younger sister, who believes I have no idea what sort of teenage angst she is going through. It shows that while I have become content with who I am, I still understand where she is in her life.
