Silence
When you’re scared
But if you speak, you’ll be hurt

Defenseless
When you are being treated badly
But you can’t fight back

Muteness
Not being able to share your opinion
And if you try, you’ll be punished

Passiveness
Having your food and water taken away
But talking won’t get it back

Deadened
Not being able to get an education
So you don’t know what to say or how to save yourself

Loneliness
When you’re alone
And you don’t have anyone you trust

Noiselessness
When you scream in a crowded room
But no one can here you

Hopelessness
When you wish for things
But have no possible way for those things to ever happen

Stillness
When you are regarded as a breathing, seeing, moving human
But you can’t share your life with others

Sullenness
When the faces you see, have no connection to you
They’re only statues that you used to know

Closemouthed
When the words you can say
Don’t have a meaning

But the time we take
To wake people up
Makes a big step towards deleting these things
People will have voices
The words they say will turn into actions
And those actions will turn into
A better future

This poem is meant to open the eyes of people who may not understand the rights of some people in the world. Hopefully this will inspire people to look at the world around them and try to help.
