In the middle of the night,
I lie awake in my bed.
My heart feels tight,
This memory hurts my head.

He did me wrong,
He hurt my heart,
He made my life feel long.

Why do i still feel,
His touch on my back?
Why can't i just deal,
With the facts?

He left me, he's gone,
With only one reminder.
My heart was so strong,
Now it only ponders.

What could have been,
If you would have stayed.
Maybe then,
My heart would be frayed.

I close my eyes to try and sleep,
As the pain burns through my mind.
A small tear slides down my cheek,
And all over again my heart begins to unwind.

I sat up from my bed,
Pencil and paper in hand,
Words still fresh in my head,
And i began:

"In the middle of the night,
I lie awake in my bed.
My heart feels tight,
This memory hurts my head..."
