Ode to My Mother
There you stand
Holding out your helping hands
Arms out wide
Ready to wrap me inside
Your soft words
Same advice as if it’s never been heard
Your heart, so warm
Always there for me when I’m torn
Your eye catching smile
The one that will stay with me for a while
Those bright eyes
Behind where all my secrets lie
These soothing sounds and sights
I have come to depend on with all my might
You have given me the tools I need
To become a person who will succeed
I pray for you and your health
And you pray for my future and great wealth
I hope to one day make you proud
And to accomplish for you, all I have vowed
