I have never seen the sun go up or down
My life has been in darkness
I see everything as if it was black
I have no color in my eyes
I can only dream of what the sea looks like
I do not know what a color even looks like
My life is not black and white
It is only a darkness
I feel forgotten
I feel no need to live a day longer
Why must I be different
Will I ever be a whole person
I am torn apart
Please give me hope of site
Please help me see light

The author's comments:
I wanted to create a piece about others. Others who are not thought about often enough. We don't give credit to ones that live with the responsibility of blindness.ones that are able to see and read don't stop and think of the ability that we have. So for all those that have the responsibility of blindness this poem is for you.

This is awesome, Maddy! It shines in the dawns light, it is as majestic as a swan. It lends us a new perspective. They can't see, and we can. It's sad to think you'll never see the light ever. Keep working hard, and you'll shine brighter than the light!
