"Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."

A final kiss upon my cheek
Which fades away to nothing
But a memory still burns inside
Of his smile which could never die

A big dreamer with a bigger heart
Rises up and out of this world
As he leaves his great story behind

I remember his cunning plans
His funny, creative remedies
His large heart and warm smile
Yes, I remember...

My best friend, my father
The one I loved the most
My idol, my superstar
The memories of my father

Long walks which filled my dreams
Great talks that I loved
Create a great album inside my head

My father, my friend, my superstar
The memory that burns inside

I wrote this piece last year for my Freshman English 1 Class. It was written about the character Francie from the novel A Tree Grows In Brooklyn.
