Poetry Block

Writing a poem is very hard,
When you’re not exactly a bard,
What should I write about right now,
What should I do, where and when, and how?

Maybe I’ll write about a ship,
Who’s sea captain went for a dip,
His arm was taken by a whale,
A shark came up with a white tail.

No way! I say, toss that paper,
I dream up plans, a new caper,
A mystery about a crime,
A detective who has no time.

That’s all very good and quite well,
But that tale isn’t mine to tell,
What’s happening, I cannot think!
My thoughts are now starting to sink.

Sometimes writing is such a pain,
It aches my head, it hurts my brain,
But look now, it’s more than okay,
This poem ended, I’m done today!
