The Word
I need to capture such sadness without words
because words are useless
unless there is a word
that reminds you of the day
when you found out
that your uncle died,
and Grandma
was going to be taken off life support
in three days.
I never knew he was an alcoholic
or that her cancer was murderous.
No one told me
because ignorance creates innocence
until Reality kills everyone.
