Live Like a Loon

Everyone needs to fly to live
or dive to explore.
Everyone must reach for greatness
or satisfy their curiosity.
Therefore, I wish to be a loon.
The bird that has everything I need.
The twenty-seven inch wings to fly
and the lung capacity to dive two hundred feet.
However, I want to copy
the most beautiful part:
Their call.
A cry for companionship
from the lone loon of the lake.
I remember the haunting call
that left me shaking.
I need to capture such sadness without words.
