Anything At All

May 5, 2008
By Rosalie Davidson, Stanwood, WA

The clouds cover
The sky
But the sun
Peaks out
As the blades of grass
Stretch up
In its rays

I walk slowly
Pondering
Each
Small
Step
Up the walk
As I make
My way
Home

My thoughts stray
As they usually do
To you

I stop
My sneakers
Making a small
Crunch
As I
Halt
And close
My eyes

I imagine
What it might
Be like
For just
One
Moment
If maybe
You had
Your arms
Around me

I would feel
So safe
So happy
So loved

Its too bad
I can't feel
Anything
At all
