Darkness

AS I WALK IN THIS DARKNESS
I STAND FEARLESS AND HEARTLESS
RIDDLED WITH SHAME
FEELING NOTHING BUT PAIN
I WALK IN THIS DARKNESS I STOP AND I THINK
SHOULD I PUT DOWN THE BOTTLE
AS I STOP WITH ONE MORE DRINK
MY LIFE FLASHES BY
AS TEARS ROLL DOWN MY EYES
THEN THE QUESTIONS ARISE
AM I THAT LOW?
DO I REALLY NEED TO DIE?
I ASK GOD HIMSELF
WHY DO YOU KEEP ME ALIVE
HE SAID THE ANSWER WAS SIMPLE
YOU HAVE A CHOICE TO LIVE OR TO DIE
TO CHOOSE DEATH OR TO SURVIVE
THE CHOICE IS YOURS USE CAUTION BE WISE
AS GOD LEFT ME WITH THAT
THE DOOR TO THE DARKNESS WAS CRACKED
MY CHOICE WAS MADE
MY MEMORIES DISMAYED
AS I SLAMED THE DOOR
MY HEART STILL RECOVERS FROM BEING TORN
I MADE MY CHOICE I CHOSE TO BE WISE
I CHOSE TO LIVE NOT TO DIE
BEYOND THE TEARS THAT ROLLED DOWN MY EYES
I CLOSED THE DOOR TO RELIZE
I PAST DEATH ONLY TO SURVIVE.
