just because
Just because I am a foster child
doesn’t mean I am
homeless
poor
or abused.
Just because I am a foster child
doesn’t mean I am
depressed
alone
or sad.
Just because I am a foster child
doesn’t mean I am
not going to go to college
not going to make something of myself
or not going to be happy.
Just because I am a foster child
doesn’t mean I am
never going to see my mom
never going to see my old friends
or not ever going to see my sister.
Just because I am a foster child
doesn’t mean I am
scared
lost
or crazy.
Just because I am a foster child
doesn’t mean I was
abused by my mom
abandoned my my mom
or disowned by my mom.
Just because I am a foster child
let me prove that most of the opinions
of foster kids are wrong.
