For the Last Time

April 14, 2008
By Tess Cooper, Portland, OR

A black void

But then

Something falls

A rose

Red as blood

My grief for you

when I lay the bloom

upon your grave

a tear falls also

in rememberance.

Our final embrace

Shall be in death

When I will lay in rest

Beside you for the last time.
