So I Sing

By
People will be
People,
And life will be
Painful,
So I Sing.
Love is not always
True-
Friendship can be deceiving,
So I Sing.
Even roses hide
Their true selves-
Their prickling
Growths.
If vegetation
Sneaks,
What might
Humanity hide?
So I Sing.
Mindless decisions
Fall
Out of the mouths of
The Trusted
While
Demonic Strategy
Plays with the Minds
of the Weak.
So I Sing.
And yet,
through it all,
Flowers dance on
Grassy hillsides,
Children run
With wind at their cheeks,
And the sun
Has not yet failed me
In Rising,
So I Sing.
