Crown

February 3, 2008
By Dominiquetric Simpson, Dallas, GA

Weave a crown of flower,
entangle the stem and leaves,
paint the petals blue
dangle silver from the green,
and wear it proud, my King--
In Summer, Spring, and Fall
watch its colors wither, fade,
and seap away--
Remnant brown ring in Winter
To exchange and be renweded
as the sun returns to you
