"Pain is pain. It could be physical or mental, but all in all? Everyone's hurting."

The window is clouded with my breath,
The path shows proof of my steps,
Yet no one seems to see me.

The seat I sit in is clearly taken,
Surely it could not be mistaken?
Yet no one seems to see me.

I hum a tune, then sing a song,
But no one near will sing along.
I tell a joke with boisterous laugh,
Yet no one seems to hear me.
I scream in rage,
I yell in fright,
I howl; Yes howl! With all my might...
Yet no one seems to hear me.

In this house I once called home,
In this place I now must roam.
Here alone I shall stay,
Lost until my dying day.

The author's comments:
The purpose of this poem.... You know? I really haven't a clue. It simply came to me out of the blue. I suppose I've felt like I was lost; disappeared; forgot. But no, never have I felt this deeply lost... I just tried to see things from someone else's point of view. Poems such as this are said to express the author's feelings, but I think that this is an exception. I wrote what came to my mind, and didn't want to dictate my thoughts. I have found that when you give your mind a free rein, it usually comes up with things that you would never imagine yourself capable of saying or doing. So, in conclusion, I suppose this poem has a moral as well... But that's for you to figure out yourself.
