Jesus Died in My Place
Jesus died in my place
I can see the tears roll down his face
A crown of thorns placed on his head
For my own sins the savior bled
Abounding love, he shed for me
Amazing grace, I've been set free
One of three, He turned away
To save my life in just one day
I once was lost but now I'm found
The Holy Spirit is all around
Control my life and may I be
A living example for all to see

Oversweet, overwrought, but not altogether bad. Two lines bother me, though.
Control my life and I may be A living example for all to see.
Is that all you want from your life, then, to be a pawn of an overbearing deity, never free to pursue your own wonders? What about the art? What about the music? What about the love?
