The Feast

April 19, 2008
Amidst novels of crisp pages,
I sit, eyes munching on words.
An aroma of simmering phrases
Invites my imagination to dine

The feasting begins!

Soaring to a storybook picnic,
I lunch with faeries and wizards.
Pocketing Hagrid’s rock cakes,
I savor bowls of sentence stew.

The feasting continues!

Darkness cloaks peacock hills;
Rain falls, smudges bright land.
Close, Mother Thunder rumbles;
I duck, hasten to my homework.

The feasting ends!
