Fingers Move, Up and Down

His fingers move up and down
the black and white keys
music plays, waking up my soul
defining everything that I am
the music pounds in my heart
it means so much more to me
then just music itself
it’s giving me hopes, dreams
I know what it means to be sick
and close to death
I want to go on
don’t erase me, don’t erase him
we’re meant for something
and we need to ride it out
fingers move up and down
the black and white keys
take me inside of them
inside a safe world
where he can play forever
