I’m drowning in my toxic tears,
A sea of hurt and piercing fears.
Molten lava never saw such pain
As it pours on me in choking rain.
This noose I pull around my soul
Is only tightened by the fool,
For thought, sweet thought, is the enemy
Of my inner self’s insanity.
Dare I shout for a hand to grab?
Dare not they write me on the old Stone Slab…
For gentle words could not be the friend
Of this old man in his bitter end.

The author's comments:
In the last breaths of life, this pain encapsulates a man who is on the edge of sanity.
