She walked that beaten path
Built on forgotten broken dreams,
Singing sad songs to the shadows
Of the moon that no longer gleams.
And slowly the world swayed
To the tunes that owned the night,
For Death then casted his shadow
On the ruins of the light
She wore the mask of sorrow
And befriended the starless sky;
She walked with pain beside her
And caused the night to cry.
Such rain that once made grow
Now caused the trees to fall,
And empires and civilizations
No longer stood so tall.
The terrors of this reality
This world the girl made true,
The reign of Death on all
Is our future coming to?

The author's comments:
At the sight of death, a feeble reality might not defend itself to these horrors.
