My Heart To Burn
I stare up at the star filled sky,
To afraid to look back,
We came this far, was it all a lie?
I wish and pray for him to care
But all I can do is cry
And leave a soft whisper in the air
He said he loved me, he said he still feels that way
But is it true, or is he saying what I want to hear,
I can't handle all this pain; I can't keep these tears at bay.
They just keep falling, and I know he doesn’t love me
If only my heart would let him go,
Then I could finally be forever free.
I wish for his heart and his love,
But itll never be mine again,
It flew away on the wings of a dove.
I guess it's over now, never to return.
But I still have tears left to shed,
And once more my heart is left to burn.
