Her heart burns with passion hidden away,
Obstructed from view to follow their lead,
Wants life of color but has life of grey.

She knows her choices, to leave or to stay;
And nods her head though she does not agree.
Her heart burns with passion hidden away.

Settles with quiet, but dying to say,
That’s not who I am, that just isn’t me.
Wants life of color but has life of grey.

In her brain and body exists this fray,
She’s not exactly who she wants to be.
Her heart burns with passion hidden away.

Like a robin in a field of blue jay;
Afraid of change, she hides behind her tree.
Wants life of color but has life of grey.

Does it make you feel better? Does it pay,
To be what you’re not when you want to please?
Her heart burns with passion hidden away.
Wants life of color but has life of grey.
