I voice the word that I must say,
While down to rest I now do lay.
The universe can hold but one word more,
So I whisper this word from my very core.
I cry this word into the wind,
This is a truth I will not rescind.
And down deep where no wind may reach,
To the world this word I’ll teach.
?
To waters of the ocean deep
I cry this word, in their sleep
And while the fish swim just as they were,
This word makes the waters stir.
I shout this word in all the fires,
For this is what the world requires.
That the word be maimed, and burned,
So humankind may not be spurned.
The earth is last to hear and hold,
Deep within a mountain’s fold
This word that rumbles the very stones,
And all the past ancestors’ bones.
And finally, when all is done,
This word I’ll breathe to the sun.
And when the world is finally dark,
The word is there, plain and stark.
While down to rest I now do lay.
The universe can hold but one word more,
So I whisper this word from my very core.
I cry this word into the wind,
This is a truth I will not rescind.
And down deep where no wind may reach,
To the world this word I’ll teach.
