I want to be that writer

And his masterful, elegant blues



Let me be the genius man

The one that has a lot he understands

Let me be like Shelby Steele

The man that embodies how a race can feel



Teach me empathy, Miss Gwendolyn Brooks

I know these three

Have something instilled in me

Such a feeling, such a sensation

What I got from them is some serious inspiration
