I stand here with a smile
Knowing that everything I did was worth the while
I promised you all those months ago that I love you
And still to this very day I still do
Many times I've misstepped
Through my mistakes you wept
Many times I've nearly given in except
The thoughts of you and I was what I kept
You make me feel so alive
I never thought someone else could make me thrive
Through the pain I cleave
Hoping that you'd never leave
Hoping that you'd say yes
Hoping that having me as a husband you will not detest
