The lonely shepherd makes his way
On paths untraveled where the sleepless dwell
As light meets dark at the close of day

His mark, left at the edge of the bay
On shore, chimes sound, at the toll of the bell
The lonely shepherd makes his way

Thin grass on light green pastures sway
To the breath of wind around him swell
As light meets dark at the close of day

Light on the dial time does convey
At the final turn, the dial slowly fell
The lonely shepherd makes his way

Others are free, to roam as they may
Freedom, life's gift, one he remembers well
As light meets dark at the close of day

Wandering soul longs for the fray
Weary eyes glaze over with more to tell
The lonely shepherd makes his way
As light meets dark at the close of day
