Media Scapegoat

I hope these lights do blind you while you stare at the camera's eye

You placed your faith into a world devoid of growth and constant contradiction

Now you are the star everyone hopes to be, burning bright in the public sky

Your drug of choice is paparazzi and spotlight feeds into your addictions

Years down the road your movies are aging, classless and forgotten

The music you created is discarded and the art you lived for is burning and rotten

You were just the puppet on a string and the media made you it's favorite plaything

So now we hope you waste away, we're sincerely disappointed, and we condemn you

No one is left to be your friend and no one is left alive who will defend you

A life based off lies, how jaded and pathetic, truly mad and weary

Anything left you have to say is unwelcome it makes the people dreary

You have no friends with which you can align, they all looked towards the mirror and saw a different sign

You'll be judged like all the rest when you sell your soul to some higher calling

God cannot save you now even while your falling

Your arrogance oh washed up celebrity has cost you your life, now you have nothing and you will play the price
