The Ocean's Game
The sound of the ocean,
Both deadly and sweet,
Drowns out all others-
Never once a defeat.
She stares us all down,
Enjoying her threats,
Yet enticing us each-
She's placing her bets.
With her sing-song voice,
A beauty, no lie,
She calls us right to her-
Convinced we won't die.
But it's her, you see,
Who's convinced us of such,
Her crashes and waves-
We use as a crutch.
Our minds are enveloped,
In honey, sweet music,
Hypnotized, we dive-
To her it's fun; sick.
The sound of the ocean,
Both deadly and sweet,
Drowns out all others-
Never once a defeat.
