I Am Rembered

I am an American flag draped over a soldier’s casket buried but remembered forever.
I wonder where the river of life will take me.
I hear a black cat singing opera in the light of the sun.
I see a pine tree running swiftly through the busy streets.
I want family and friends surrounding me.
I am an American flag draped over a soldier’s casket buried but remembered forever.

I pretend to be a rock star when I play my guitar.
I feel reality hit me in the face with problems I never knew I had.
I touch the hot fire atop a mountain of dreams burning down each one.
I worry that all my hard work will be for nothing.
I cry when I know that I’ve lost a best friend.
I am an American flag draped over a solder’s casket buried but remembered forever.

I understand that all good things must come to an end.
I say you only have one chance to live, make it count.
I dream that one day I will have my own café in New York.
I hope not to succeed in everything but keep trying to be the best I possibly can.
I am an American flag draped over a soldier’s casket buried but remembered forever.
