The Water Drops on the Closed Gate

How long will it take,
To adjust to this new place
The last time I had to bend this far
Was only yesterday?

I seem to have all that it takes
to wear the white curve on my face,
and easily convince myself,
good will come out of this one day

(Chorus)

One day, one day,
can you be any farther away?
my hands grew weak
trying to block his leak.

one day, yeah, one day,
Oh let him come my way,
confess the things he never could speak.
---

I'm seated in your small space,
Tied up like a stretching lace,
I stand so firmly still
Can't break the people you failed to embrace.
Cause you know I have to fill
Emotion over ice in your hole of mistakes.

So I'm measured each day,
And the standards just grow taller
Even if I could fly, I'd never reach that high.

I can't climb up your way,
Did you run out of valor,
and suddenly chose not to even try?

(Chorus)

Will he ever give it a try one day?
can you be any farther away?
my hands grew weak
trying to block his leak.

one day, yeah, one day,
Oh let him come my way,
confess the things he never could speak.
---

I ripped out yet another page, another date.
It's the last of the cold December
and I'm still defending your unknown state.
Why'd I stretch this much and grow so limber,
when all you showed me was a frozen heart with a closed gate?

one day, one day,
can you be any further away?
I've reached my peak
Is he still searching for something to seek?

One day, one day,
He's been calling out for help from the very first day,
And I failed to see the water drops race down his cheek.
