I saw you sitting silently

I saw you sitting silently
Staying stiff and still
Swift, yet sweetly skipping past you
I stepped and stepped until
You sighed a sigh of sorrow
Softly sending secret sadness a-fly
So sickeningly sensitive I sat and asked you why
Silence stayed between us
Someone scarcely sensed a thing
I saw slush fall speedily down your eyes
And suddenly saw in your hand a ring.
Sitting staring; shocked
Silently watching you cry
Sorrow swept into my soul
And I sigh a heavy sigh

So see since then; that moment
Since seeing your spirit seep deep into sorrow
Without setting a smile upon your face
For my soul there is no morrow
